‘The Melbourne Gala’ - GROUP EXHIBITION

Created for isquared Gallery group exhibition “The Melbourne Gala”, April 15th -May 17th 2024.

Featuring Olivia Mitchell, Raf Pyka, Josh Connell, Will Curtin, Tristan Sicari & Anthony Hantz.

“the price of privacy” is a series of photographs carefully curated and staged to appear as they were taken at the end of a gala.

The paparazzi swarming around the models explores the line between being respectful and invading an individual’s privacy.

By using a female model walking through a crowd of men, I aim to explore the concept of the male gaze.

Also conveying the vulnerability of being an emerging artist showcasing their work in a new city.

Relating back to myself being a female artist in a male dominated industry & this being my first time exhibiting work.

I usually don’t create pieces in even numbers, however, I believe the two contrasting POVs are needed.
